Framing Options

At Jamie Buzil Photography, we focus on providing you with beautiful art. We do not offer framing services and do not work with a framing company that can drop ship framed works to you. All prints are sold unframed, though a limited number of giclée prints are available with a mat and backboard. We believe in concentrating on what we do best and recommend hiring a professional framer to assist with selecting the appropriate mat and frame size, color, and variations to complement your artwork.

Framing

For clients residing in the Chicago area, we offer a selection of framed giclèe and emulsion prints, along with a limited stock of frames. For details on price, availability and production times, please reach out to us at information@jamiebuzil.com.

We do not offer framed items for shipping due to the high cost of shipping and packaging. We recommend having our prints framed by a professional framer in your area.  When framing Giclèe or Emulsion prints use either a mat board or spacers to separate the art from the glass.  The glass or acrylic used in your frame should never touch your print or artwork.  Failure to provide space between the art and the glass will affect the integrity of the photo over time.

For the best results, we recommend consulting with a local professional framer to choose the framing method that suits your artwork and decor.

Three framing methods we suggest for you to discuss with your professional framer:

1. Mat Mounting with frame of choice:

This is the best method for giclée prints. Our prints come printed with a white border, making them perfect for matting. Colored mats can add a personalized touch to your print or wall gallery. Some of our giclée prints come with mats; please check the specific print details and add a mat to your order if desired. Emulsion prints also look great with a mat but we do not sell these specific mats.

2. Float Mounting with frame of choice :

This technique elevates the print to display the full image and its edges, making it ideal for emulsion lift prints with a deckle edge. Spacers are typically used around the frame edges to prevent the print from touching the glass.

3. Flat Mounting with a Mat with frame of choice:

In this method, the print is elevated and surrounded by a mat larger than the paper size, allowing for full viewing of the image and its edges.

  • Mat Mounting

Print is framed by a 2’’ white core mat with a bevel cut around the edge.

  • Float Mounting

Print is elevated to allow for a full view of face and edges.

  • Float Mounting with Mat
