Framing: Do You Offer Framing Services?

For clients residing in the Chicago area, we offer a selection of framed giclèe and emulsion prints, along with a limited stock of frames. For details on availability and production times, please reach out to us via our contact form.

We do not offer framed items for shipping and therefore do not offer framed pieces on our website.

When framing Giclèe or Emulsion prints use either a mat board or spacers to separate the art from the glass. The glass or acrylic used in your frame should never touch your print or artwork. Failure to provide space between the art and the glass will affect the integrity of the photo.

We highly recommend working with a local framer.

Production: What is the Production Time?

Standard Production is between 2-8 weeks depending on the specific piece ordered. We have limited in stock availability of both giclee prints that are mounted with an archival white mat and mat board and a selection of emulsion prints adhered to an archival white mat board. These items will be ready to ship in 3-5 days after ordering.

Giclee Print production is approximately 3-4 weeks. Each piece is printed on demand by Jamie Buzil.

Emulsion lift print production is approximately 4-8 weeks. All pieces are made to order by the artist and involve multi-step processes. During the summer, production times may be longer due to humid weather. Production of smaller emulsion pieces is always on the shorter side and the larger pieces take 6-8 weeks.

Color as seen on a computer monitor may not look the exactly the same as the colors on our printed product. No guarantee is made that any image as seen online will necessarily match exactly the colors on the final product. All printing is done using Epson UltraChrome HDX pigment inks at maximum resolution, 2880 x1440 dpi. The ink boasts a fade resistance of up to 200 years.

All works are signed and include a certificate of authenticity.

Unpacking Prints : How to Safely Handle Prints

For Giclee Prints,

Please handle with care. Prints are lightly coated with Hahnemühle Protective Spray which fixes the ink and prevents color fading. This coating not only helps with protection from UV rays it also increases the abrasion resistance of the paper reducing the risk of fingerprint marks and scratches. However, these prints should be handled with extreme care and not touched with your hands as natural oils will affect the prints. Gloves will be included with your shipment and should be worn when handling your print.

8”, 12” and 16” square prints will be shipped flat. 20” prints will be shipped rolled. If you are framing yourself, carefully unroll in an area that is flat and large enough for the entire print. Use the packing materials to protect the surface. Carefully place books or soft weighted objects (we use silk sand bags) around the outside, or the corners, to flatten. Depending on the humidity in your house this could take a few days. Mount when flattened. We do recommend having larger prints framed by a professional. Use only archival supplies as use of other materials will lead to yellowing and destruction of the art. Even though the prints are coated with a protective spray they are still quite fragile and need to be handled appropriately.

For Emulsion Prints,

All sizes are shipped flat. Please handle with care but no need to be as careful as with a giclèe print. The prints are mounted with linen tape to a mat board for shipping, both archival. If you wish to change the board for framing, carefully remove the print from the mat board by applying heat from a hair dryer to the tape, not to the print side. A little heat goes a long way so please be gentle. If the dryer is burning your hand, you are affecting your art. It should pull away very easily. Best to have a professional framer take care of this but if you are framing yourself and have any questions, we are available to help. Please email using the contact form with any questions.

My Order Arrived Damaged, How Can I Get a Replacement?

If your order arrives damaged, please save all packaging and send us a picture of the packaging, artwork, and shipping label within 10 days of delivery. All works are shipped with insurance, and we require photo proof to file a claim. We will not begin a replacement until we receive this proof.
